3 X 3 Canvas
Rebecca Salcedo from my Etsy Team, Team NorGa, inspired me to get off my make some time to complete the 3 X 3″ canvases I have for the Art House Canvas Project II. These had to be postmarked today and I’ve waited ’til the eleventh hour, but they are in the mail. Yay me!
Here’s the scoop:
…receive 5 3”x3” canvases and a list of 5 user generated words that you are to interpret onto each canvas. The goal of the exhibition is to create a visual encyclopedia using mini canvases and artists from all over the world. At least one of your canvases will be published in an Art House book and one will be on display at the worlds busiest Airport, The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The exhibit will be on display 31 Jul – 4 Sep 09 in the Atlanta Airport Atrium Gallery.
My words were pallet, thanksgiving, recourse, divorce, and quarmpty.

Here’s my first Pay It Forward (PIF) item listed on Etsy. I really like the idea of this and thanks go to Lois at FoxyGKnits for introducing me to PIF.

This weekend
Just a quick update to say I won’t be able to be at the ARTSALE this weekend. I’ve had a very nasty stomach flu this week and it’s lingering. I truly hate to miss this sale. If you are in the area Saturday, do drop by and check it out.

Come see me at ARTSALE!
Come on down to the Marietta Square on 30 May 09 for ARTSALE! I’ll be there with plenty of glass and mosaic goodness. This show will offer a silent auction with proceeds going to the developing education program at The Strand Theatre. Hope to see you there!

Here are a couple of things I made for the Team NorGa swap. The theme for this month’s swap was the color green. My swap partner, Jenn, has two stores on Etsy.
Here’s a mosaic mirror done in shades of green. It includes smalti, mirrored tile, buttons, glass marbles, a crayon, porcelain, dice, vintage jewelry and a vintage eyeglass lens!
And here’s a blue and white pendant I made recently:
I received a big box choc-full of skeletal goodness from Jolene, aka DingoGirl. Two fab Day of the Dead pillows, a Katrina mousepad, a gorgeous beaded bracelet and some way cool tape. Thanks, Jolene! I love this.
