Here are a pair of smaller wind chimes I made. One is cranberry on clear and the other is turquoise on clear. Lots of beads and baubles used here. The cranberry chimes are done in a monocolor scheme. The beads are either clear or cranberry. It’s the first time I’ve tried that and I really like how they came out. These were a custom order and are not for sale, though I can do other custom orders.

These wind chimes are a transparent blue on clear with black vitrigraph. There are lots of fun beads and buttons in this one, too.

In September of last year, I posted about this charm I made and contributed to a project called Ties That Bind. This is a collaborative art project that will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The goal is to raise $10,000. As this project has progressed, I have been amazed at how far a little help from a lot of people can go. So many amazing artists contributed to this project and I have enjoyed discovering their talents by finding them via this project.

There are a number of links with additional info and ways you can support the project:

  • Additional pictures
  • Buy raffle tickets to win the doll- tickets are 1 for $5 or 6 for $20. The drawing will be 30 Sep 09.
  • Make a donation
  • If you’re near Modesto, CA, you can go see the doll on display.
  • Please take a minute to vote for the project to be featured on the cover of this magazine. The exposure would be great and this takes less than a minute of your time. Voting ends, Fri 24 Jul 09.
  • And finally, take a look at the book! You can view some of the pages inside and it’s available for purchase. The preview pages look awesome!

Thank you in advance for helping in any way you can.

3 X 3 Canvas

Rebecca Salcedo from my Etsy Team, Team NorGa, inspired me to get off my make some time to complete the 3 X 3″ canvases I have for the Art House Canvas Project II. These had to be postmarked today and I’ve waited ’til the eleventh hour, but they are in the mail. Yay me!

Here’s the scoop:

…receive 5 3”x3” canvases and a list of 5 user generated words that you are to interpret onto each canvas. The goal of the exhibition is to create a visual encyclopedia using mini canvases and artists from all over the world. At least one of your canvases will be published in an Art House book and one will be on display at the worlds busiest Airport, The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The exhibit will be on display 31 Jul – 4 Sep 09 in the Atlanta Airport Atrium Gallery.

My words were pallet, thanksgiving, recourse, divorce, and quarmpty.

Here’s my first Pay It Forward (PIF) item listed on Etsy. I really like the idea of this and thanks go to Lois at FoxyGKnits for introducing me to PIF.
